A beautiful morning and time to open doors
               and windows

The sun is shining and the cooling soft
               breezes blowing

And the songs of winter/spring birds through
             the tree tops flows

I look, but they are hiding and hardly
              a feather is showing

I hear Cardinals, Robins, Swallows, Laughing
                Gulls and Curlews

Oh, a Green Jay and Orioles, Boat-tailed
              Grackles, Herring Gull

And Blue Birds, Warblers, Red-winged Blackbirds
               to name a few

With all the songs I carefully look in trees
                short and tall

Not a sign of bright colors where the
               singing is best

I'm suspecting something fishy is
               going on

The MOCKINGBIRDS have come back to
               the west

And with their mocking I have a yard of
                  beautiful song

Yes, my mockingbirds are much the same.  I love their many and varied songs.  Good work. I liked this very much.

Ah, yes, the Mockingbirds...here in the Houston area they're year round residents and I have had one for about 10 years now that sits atop my chimney and sings day, eve,
night...he doesnt care and his song is amplified down the chimney blasting from the fireplace and filling the living room.  We said here some mornings on the couch drinking coffee listening to him sing....truly gonna miss this bird when his time comes which shouldn't be too much longer...ten years in the wild is a long time for them.

Lone Wolf, do Mockingbirds have their own song?  But with so many others, who cares!

Butterflies, my kid, I wish I could bring some home! And I love 'ya too.  Hugs

Auguste, such a plain bird and so much talent!  I like them.

jewesley, I wish I had your bird!  I don't think there are any in Michigan. Oh, and maybe yours will teach another to take his place when the time comes.

Balladeer, we sure could use you over here. This little "fishing camp" that we call home all winter, is on a bay on the Gulf Of Mexico.  It is a dream come true for us.  Don't you have Mockingbirds in Florida?  It is a great place to grow old in.  Hugs,  ME
