The Glass by Michael Dressed in a dingy hood so face could not be seen, he handed me a glass of evening light. It was dark and filled with fiery stars. He said drink your fill and life will know no pain. I took the glass then looked, he was no more. Cascading yellow roses where he had stood. I took a sip, then swallowed what was left. Proust- |

a glass of evening light. It was dark and filled with fiery stars. =========================== Cascading yellow roses where he had stood. I took a sip, then swallowed what was left. ====================== wonderful employ of imagery. this is a very cool poem, the mystic essence of it is perfect. "fiery stars"... very cool. It's such a clever innocence with which you show myself to me |

Janet Marie, Martie, LW & Beth, Thank you all for liking this one. It's a bit odd and I'm really not sure where it came from. It just popped into my head. :-) Michael Proust- |

Michael~ An illusionary piece that lends itself to mystery of thought. Don't you just love it when one sneaks up on you like that ? Wonderful imagery. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Marge & Karilea, Thanks. I'm happy you liked this one. A bit odd, huh? I guess it's a good thing that I don't share every poem that pops into my head. Take care, sweet ladies. Michael Proust- |
