the eye of the storm

Though the world may spin
ferociously fast
and dizzy, my eyes
time after time miss
my appointed path,
I pray to look up
always up
for there is a calm
just past
my fingertips
as far as the eye
can comprehend,
if only my heart will
let me see-
guided footfalls
have no need of worry
nor fear of blindness.

Superbly woven, succinct, yet tender not terse.  Well done!

You know, being a diabetic, blind has to be my greatest fear.  Slowly dying, or dying on organ at a time, has to be my second greatest.  Still, I now where "guided footfalls" lead and will take refuge there.

Good poem

guided footfalls... what a wonderful image! *S* I must be escaping such guidance, though... for I still seem to find every patch of quicksand. *S* Well done!

VAS thank you much

Michael, my nephew has diabetes, since he was 4, and I have read about the dangers of blindness, so I understand your fear, i guess what I am saying is that i don't want to be blind when my eyes think they see....and yes...not just you...and me...we are all slowly dying, just some faster than others..

suthern...lady, you got your feet on solid ground, you just gotta learn to trust that its not gonna move out from under you

RMW, thank you, have enjoyed reading your work

yanno... people always say -- keep your chin up -- but sometimes they say -- keep your head down...

(hmmm... was just thinking that could be turned into something crude... lol)

but -- it doesn't matter which path -- as long as there are friends on it with you?

You'll find those footfalls.  Hang in there!
