SNOWBALL

Well it started off so tiny,
We were just a little whiny.
But then it started growing,
Soon the vanity was showing.
All emotion escalating,
Neither one of us relating.
With the temperature now rising,
Neither one was improvising.

Then the tea, it started steaming,
And the kettle started screaming;
With deep rooted anger sprouting,
Leaving us like children pouting.
Decibels yet amplifying,
Soon the words of hate were flying;
Both now feeling vindicated
By inflicting wounds unsated.

As the minutes turned to hours
Time forfeited all known powers
To this senseless need for purging
Which was now a full rage, surging.
Growing louder, growing faster,
Surely headed for disaster.
Cutting deep into the stasis
Of the trust which was our basis.

And just when I thought a killing
Surely next up on the billing,
Well, it sounded kind of funny;
But I said, "I love you, honey."
‘Twas just then I caught you smiling,
With an effect quite beguiling;
Knowing exactly how you felt,
So glad to see this snowball melt.

This is beautiful, Michael! And I do understand...it's not ALL bad...(and I do mean for ME) I've a knack for saying funny things just RIGHT AT THE MOMENT I AM PISSED OFF---that makes everyone around laugh---(I AM a little goofy..    So thank for the smiles! And? It IS yanno!

YESSS! DOWN SNOWBALL! DOWN WITH THE SNOWBALL!! Err..okay..sorry..I've been up too long, eh? *snickers* This is absolutely..well..absolute. So you, and you know I've always loved your work. *giggles* Be kind to me and bear with my response, after all, its morning outside.   This is truly exceptional.

I am bound by this, you see...to become Night's sole mistress, and I am jealous in my endeavours for his attention.

Serenity, there's really nothing bad over here - was just having a little fun with an old idea.  I was hoping no-one would take it too literally.  You know, whenever I get grumpy, Linda likes to start singing "You Are My Sunshine" - talk about breaking someone into laughter.  I get peeved at her because I pride myself on holding a crabby disposition most of the time, out of habit if nothing else, and she just makes it impossible.... LOL

Jen, glad you enjoyed - it's morning out here too, though not quite as late...er, early as it is there I suppose.  I can still be silly though, can't I?

I love this Michael! It's so TRUE!! In my head I was singing this to the tune of song from 'Willie Wonka'..the scene where they are riding in the boat....

What a delightful read!!! *S* I've been in a few of those snowball situations that weren't melted with an honest expression of affection... so I can relate... and envy! *S* I love this!

LOL....I do so like her choice of songs for "ice-breakers"....

A good read, and a common occurrence in many households....
