miss you Bri,
come visit on spring break.

~Celestial Passions~

The Cherub rolls his pearl eyes
waking her from the wardrobe door,
his angelic face brings sweet memories ...
drifting back into her mind
like so many times before.
He is as a faded photograph
from insomnia's edge blind,
she kisses him in the exposure
of where all lost loves are born.
Her love for him eternal,
outlasting sands of time,
winds of change, realms of space.
His touch, her deliverance,
his kiss, her saving grace.
Shadows drain his homogeneous flesh,
in low golden dove song he whispers,
"I love you, I will face God's wrath ...
be Heaven's fallen disgrace,
and deny an eternity for one moment in your bliss".
She exists only to know his skin against hers,
no sacrifice too great, now on bended knee ...
she gives herself in offering.
She, his fate, he, her destiny.
Like Heaven and Earth,
Moon and Sun,
this between them, meant to be.
Celestial bodies consolidate as a single soul,
their skin glistening in Heavenly passion fire,
with bodies writhing hypnotised by Hades' desire.
Petals lay at their feet;
the pistil erupts on the serpent's toll.

Suns eclipse, stars align,
love and lust kiss then entwine.
In between Heaven and Hell,
for just a taste, a soul to sell.
Equal to earth and sky,
this desire,this fire,
they shall not deny.
Her mortal eyes pierce his wings of a dove,
the first snow of Calvary becomes washed with blood.
In ecstasy they radiate baptising pestilence with love.
Ten million souls rejoice from purgatory's edge
cleansed in a sensual flood.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust,
saints and sinners, love or lust.
Angels sing, Holy Empyrean pray,
immersed in surrender ...
inhale as Heaven washes it all away.
Breath on breath slows to sigh,
she curls in his wings of tender embrace,
Traces of Heaven reflect in his pearl eyes.
From mortal coil they witness with grace
redemption for the masses
as Golgotha rises from the ashes.

Baptized and bathed in afterglow
he gazes into her luna lashed eyes of jade.
Finding his own reflection,
their undying love on display.
Enchanted by her beauty,
his own soul he would now trade.
"Stay with me eternally,
you seem too beautiful to be,
though in my soul I believe this is real.
Once you were but a forced dream
to chase away the solitude.
What God or grace has granted me my angel?
My true love no longer eludes".
By intend of fate or destiny,
this union shall not be denied nor dismissed.
Signed, sealed, and delivered
by love's merciful, forgiving kiss.
In each other's presence
saving grace is finally found.
On a wing and prayer ...
this love rises up infinite,
everlasting and heaven bound.

I remember this one Janet...

This was one of the best duet works I have read in recent times... and as I re-read this work... again and again... I am in a state of utter fascination for the skills that you two seem to hold...

To pick the lines I like would mean pasting the complete work ... so I would not do so...

Regards to you O Janet,
Sudhir
P.S. and I miss Brian's works a lot too...

MORE!!!!!!

I'd forgotten!!! So, thank you much. A most beautiful and thoughtful repost---and If I'd play "favorite line" --oh what the hell-

He is as a faded photograph
from insomnia's edge blind,

that is so vivid and apt that it is a Paper Cut of a phrase! and more--

he gazes into her luna lashed eyes of jade.
Finding his own reflection,
their undying love on display.

This is a startling description of a "jaded moon"---incredible! (Lots of imagery in here I LOVE!)   but ya KNEW that!!!

Call Brian--let's make it a threesome? (Ohhhh...what a NEAT CHALLENGE!)

Fantabulous work here! Smoochies for the repost!   Love ya. and I promise. A Mardi Gras Care Pak is being shipped this week!

Remember this one well, Janet.

The pictures only add to the splendor of the poem.

Superb work! With such excellence, it's hard to pick a favorite section, much less a favorite line. *S* Still... "deny an eternity for one moment in your bliss" sure does make this suthern gal sigh with longing for such a saving grace. *S*

Beautifully presented collaborative poetry. Thank you re-posting since I had not the opportunity to read previously. This line caught my attention: "from insomnia's edge blind,"

"I am not now that which I have been."

Thank you all for the kind replies ...
I found those pictures and they reminded me of this poem Brian and I did ....
I heard from Bri yesterday and he is very busy with college still and he hopes to be back by May.
He sends his regards and thanks for the replies.
My thanks again to Bri for the lessons in imagery and most of all for the patience and
grace to allow me to totally cliche' his
wonderful verses with my tired rhymes
