Memory Trace
~*Marge Tindal*~

Velveteen memories from roses kept
within the heart of petals wept
Falling quietly in soft surround
Oh, to touch that velvet sound
that years of passing cannot erase
one red rose in memory trace
sits forever in this heart's crystal vase

I have held in my hand
the beauty of the white, white rose
and in my heart a sorrow.
One will ne'er bloom again,
and one will bloom tomorrow.

Something so lovely from the garden,
carrying freshness on it's bloom.
Sadly given to one in repose,
velvet petals of the white, white rose.

Sent with spirits to that land
where nevermore we hold their hand.
Landing softly, I would suppose,
the petals of the white, white rose.

Oh Marge ((hugs)) I missed this one.  The last line seems so past tense, and I somehow feel she is liking this one!  What an absolutely beautiful tribute to your Mother, and the presentation of looking like a rose in a vase, was of course your usual touch of elegance, that sets you apart.  I bet the apple did not fall very far from the tree?  Pretty special daughter to send this rose, and I am sure she is smiling.

Marge, the tears are flowing now, this is a beautiful tribute to her!  I just know that she is in heaven, an angel looking down on her lil' Margie and smiling, so proud of such a lovely, kind-hearted woman, and I bet that she even reads your poetry and sheds a tear or two herself at the talent you posess! Hugs to you~

Here's a bouquet for you and your Mom

Take care,
Melissa~

Truly a loving poem. How grateful we should be for our parents. Life is so truly short, regarless the color or rose appropriate to the occasion. Kiss the rose always.
