Peace

I walk among the evergreens
And into woods’ retreat
The wondrous sounds of season’s voice
Gives lightness to my feet

In rhapsody of meadow lark
From navigating geese
The sounds of nature beckoning
To cradle me in peace

I listen there in silent awe
Among the fern and brush
To ease my heart and weary mind
In songs of morning thrush

Whenever I am all alone
Among the rustling trees
Birds sing their lovely arias
That float the subtle breeze

This interlude of solitude
In music undefined
Resonates the heartstrings
And brings solace to the mind

Songbirds of the woods and field
Know well my hour of grief
As sprightly tunes come echoing
From every blade and leaf

When swallow’s hymns have touched my heart
My daily burdens cease
In lilting notes of warbling tunes
I find an inner peace

Elizabeth~
Very, very pretty writing ...

'This interlude of solitude
In music undefined
Resonates the heartstrings
And brings solace to the mind'

Peace in the making ...

Liz, this is just gorgeous. How peaceful, these birdsongs and how beautiful your poem.  Helmut would love this. I'll send it to him, if that's alright with you. (o:

Reading your work is meditation itself. Awe.
