This is my first Open Poetry venture, so feel free to criticise. This got shown in Dark Passion 3, as part of 3 poems, but it was more suited to this board, so it gets an individual posting.

Floating free above my mind
Towards a bright new light
Could this be Heav’n?
I am not dead.
This new world
Like nothing seen afore

I float around
Through bright, green forest
Over tall mountains.
I weep with joy
For true beauty
Surrounds me utterly
I wander for ages
Not a soul do I see
Till I cross the sea
Reaching a new land
Where, on the bay lies
A white, gleaming city
Filled with people
Of such glorious beauty
Angels if I ever saw them
And the streets of that city
Ah so clean.

Yet then a voice booms
Seeming from the heav’ns
“Are you paying attention?”
Then the world dissolves
Returning me to the dirty, dreary
Classroom of reality

Skoota

Come to me
Kill for me
Worship me.
Follow everthing I do
Act it out before me
