Shadows On A Lovers Moon

Lady of mine, you the one that does use me in ways never known,
Who does drive my emotions to depths never shown,
Have both of us really outgrown what we thought was perfection, those feelings so true,
Or did I see somebody that was not a part of you.
These aged days of a love gone cold,
But look deep within yourself, for greater things than what you hold are found if one can see.
No need for lies or second tries, for what I surely offer you, is something that can set you free.
I give you not in part, for this my heart, I give it all,
Unlike the other moments in my life I can recall.
Be gone the past, those broken dreams that never last,
Tomorrow and today is what I pray for in your arms.
To find that beauty held within, to touch upon your softest skin,
And drown within your charms.
What hardships must I still endure, to finally at last be sure,
That love has taught me all that I can learn.
I give to you my everything, and find my arms now empty,
You give nothing in return.
Am I as blind as used to be, a lovers fool through history,
Does something as yet not explained, not want to be revealed to me,
You tell me words I need to hear,
But that is not enough my dear,
I need to see a future clear,
One I can understand.
Where we as one, together, will be walking hand in hand.
This mind in deep confusion, my conscience draped in shame,
Am I again to take the blame for something not so real.
This darkened room, whispers your name,
My dreams at night, your face does steal,
Let once again the days reveal this love we claim to share.
The woman that I saw in you, who showed a heart so warm and true,
Was she ever really there.
How many shadows left to fall upon this lovers moon.
How long till I can rid these pains of anguish that I hide.
No more the man I was inside,
Where used to nestle sentiment, admiration, fevered lust,
I carry this infection made from self-defence and lack of trust.
Bring to me, reality of all the good things we can be.
It’s time to show what truth does hide within.
Be rid mistakes of days gone by, those inward tears that often cry,
Forever cannot live a lie,
Reach out and let me come to you, rekindle feelings that we knew,
We have but this chance left to prove that we were meant to be,
So help me clear this falling mist, and make yourself more clear to me.
Not run away, or still resist, I long to taste your lips once kissed,
My arms and heart are open wide,
This truth can never be denied, let heaven and the stars collide,
When we at last unite, two lovers in a love gone wrong that turned out to be right.

How ccould anyone resist a plea like this?  I like your rhyme scheme within sentences. I'm still trying to pin it down.  Good work.  Joyce

Alexander, you write such lovely poetry, I'm afraid not too many are reading you because you don't reply...

This deviates from your more frequent style, Alexander... It's beautifully done, as are the rest..
