Taking Time for Life
Virginia Salter

I took time to stop and smell the roses
got a bee up my nose
I took an amble through the posies
got red ants ‘neath my clothes

I stopped to greet a friend, have a chat for awhile
we met and fell to earth in the middle of the stile
Crawling out, getting up and dusting each other off
we began to start all over again, then we fell into a trough

We knelt down to pray, and to listen to our God
He lifted us gently up and out of the earthen sod
He soothed our ruffled feathers and caressed our very souls
and set us upright again that we might seek His goals

Of all the things we set out to do today
the one that blessed us most
was kneeling in fervent prayer
through the glorious Heavenly Ghost

This is so beautiful and the ending so fine.

Thank you all, very much!  And Joyce, I think God gets quite a few chuckles out of me and the things I do and think.
