Almost persuaded
By that look in your eyes
Almost persuaded
By your soft spoken lies

Torn by temptation
To be held in your arms
Almost persuaded
To give in to your charms

Almost persuaded
By your bittersweet kiss
Lost in sensation
Of this love that I miss

Touched by the memory
Of the love that we shared
Almost persuaded
By the heart you laid bare

Almost persuaded
To try one more time
A foolish desire
To leave this ache behind

This trembling heart cries
For the gift of forget
Almost persuaded
To pretend we just met

Almost persuaded
Almost...but not quite

Step back, look him straight in the eye, then turn and run as fast as you can. Never let him get in control again. Almost is only in horseshoes and hand gernades. You did good.

Oh yeah! I like that it says it all!        What a great write Paula!

Wow!! So very well written. I call these times the silver bullet trick when barely missed is as good as a mile. Good for you! Don't look back.

It isn't always easy to resist that temptation at times.  You have done a great job of portraying those feelings we sometimes feel.  Well done!

This poem is insanely good.  It flowed with a wonderful rythum and still held very heartfelt thoughts.  Sounds as though my ex girlfriend could have wrote this too.  lol j/k. great poem.

now that last line was great.
i was ready for a downward turn, for some lines of heartache at the end and you go and lead me on like that... wonderful twist!
