Reflections

Such a small thing,
the dew upon the grass.

Such a big thing,
the heart’s whisper.

These things need to be noticed
but happen so fast,
time sees to the changing
by the time you’ve thought to look.

Can I measure importance with my marble,
roll it from beginning
across the tundra of now
into the future?

When it returns
it would be rusty
and crusted with mud,

then

If I
brushed it with the feather of my intent,
the only thing I’d see
coming out of the shine would be,

my own reflection.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.
(ee cummings)

I applaud, Martie.  Your insight in this is just wonderful.

oh i do so love the pen of your intent
martie this is so cool.. and such a unique
ponderings...
your reflections are as lovely as your smile.

oh you speak to me in riddles
and you speak to me in rhymes
my body aches to breathe your breath
your words keep me alive

I do so dislike being away from your insight for a moment, let alone a day....and the memories you invoke of a little girl in overalls, overhauled with the moment of a day, making memories that won't rise under a decade or two later....

you, my friend, well, I simply have no words.  You spirit them away, and all I can say, as I have said before, is...

IWIHWT....
