Struck By Lightning
By: Noah Eaton
3/22/01

Under the gathering thick clouds of honey I stand
Veiled between a veil of navy blue
Thor whispers upon the watershed
I look through thunderstruck eyes, dappled with a lamb’s innocent cry

My heart beckons for a love to share my life with
I’m in love with her ghost
I step forth dancing on the prairie
Arms reaching high upon the gray skies, feeling Thor’s word of power thunder against my swaying arms

Setting myself to dreaming, I faint upon the reggae cabbage patches, the polka strawberry fields
Embracing passions scream, loosening myself in silence to hear my soulmate’s call
Lightning desires aflame my mind of drought, staring into the light
A lightning strike of passion hits my heart, my girl comes swimming in my head

Electrified in steaming passion, my love embraces me, sighing like the rolling thunder
Speaking those three simple words, lighting the skies with desires white flash
Lips meet, lightning and thunder crash against the Earth, each phenomenon resembling a joining of two souls as one
Bonding under heaven, forever to love…

I awaken from a groundbreaking muse, surprised to see the sun has come out
Still this passion curses through my aflame body, a lovesick boy longing to hold first love to his heart
While a thunderstorm of lust rumbles on deep in me
A soul struck by lightning, burning in yearning…

In love with a ghost...I love that line.  Very good expression.  I like this a lot.

Dear Mistletoe What a lovely dream and your story so well told.
I wish I had started writing poetry at your age.  Just think where I'd be today at my age.( no I'm not telling what that is.)  Keep up the good work. Love, Joyce
