Beneath a gray sky, umbrellas of every color (mostly black) bob up and down along the busy street like those dancing toadstools in some Disney cartoon. Traffic lights continuously flick red... yellow... green... bursting their radiant hues onto the mirror of the rain-soaked pavement. New and old rubber hisssssses across shiney wet asphalt and concrete and slithers around every corner like a never ending snake. Horns blow, some angry, some desparate, some calling, some searching, while sister sirens scream and blat for their share of attention. And I stand alone in a doorway, like a jewelled, big-eyed, black cat clock, looking back and forth, back and forth waiting.... and watching for my princess to appear among all those lonely toadstools. "HEY, DON'T THROW THAT AWAY, I MIGHT NEED IT SOMEDAY!!!" Packratmike [This message has been edited by Packratmike (edited 03-27-2001).] |

S Arthur Grey....Glad you liked this one. Sometimes these things sink so fast, I forget I posted them. Marge....This was a fun write. I closed my eyes and pictured this cityscape and the above came very easily to me. I lucked out on this one. *S* forevernbluejeans....I leave the answer to your question up to the readers.*g* Glad you liked it. |
