An attempt at humor!

Columns here and columns there
Marching through the sunny glare.
With a mighty push and shove they go
To try and find their seat and row.

As the thousands come to see a race
I ponder if I should be in this place.
Like Ants they march to and fro
Wondering which entrance they should go.

Packing the stands, they shift and scoot
Sitting on the concrete, boot to boot.
Is there any comfort in this racing treat.
Where on earth did they get these tiny seats.

With a thundering blast, the engines roar.
Thinking myself, this might not be a bore.
Watching from here is at best very tense.
Wishing I were standing on the other side of the fence.

As the race winds down, to the end
The Ants begin to march again.
Filling out of this marvelous maze
I glance down at the crowd amazed.

Over One hundred fifty thousand people came.
To be packed in to watch this game.
And as they try to dodge and weave
The march right out and try to leave.

In their minds, they helped their car
Even while watching from afar.
Their satisfied it was money well spent
As I’m dreading the crowd at next year’s event.
