Feelings of Joy

Once, I was lost,
In the wilderness of my loneliness.
Then I found a path,
I knew not where it led.
As I traveled down that path,
I found the footprints,
Of another lonely soul.

I followed the footprints,
Searching for, I know not what.
I traveled on for some time,
I wearied of the search,
I sat down and cried,
I could not find the one, who made the prints,
In my loneliness.

As I rested I came to see something magical,
Right near me.
The sun peaked through the trees,
Then I saw standing there,
An angel with the sun glistening,
In her hair.

She was magical to behold,
Her beauty made me want to cry,
For I had never seen such beauty,
Not in all the world.
Surrounded by an aura of beauty,
You approached and took my hand,
You led me to a land that was grand.

You led me from my loneliness,
You brushed away my fears,
You chased away my tears,
You showed me the path,
To happiness.

I showed you something too,
I showed you my soul,
I showed you all that I am,
The good, and the bad,
The happy and the sad.
I let you see who I really am,
Not just the person I pretend to be.
I wanted you to see,
I could hide nothing from you,
I wanted you to know,
How much I truly love you,
Right through to my soul.

I have shown you who I am,
And I can see you,
For who you truly are,
A person brighter than any star.
More lovely than any flower,
More beautiful than any sunset.
I see someone who always gives to me,
The most precious gift,
You always bring a smile to my lips.

I dont know what to say this is one of the best works I've ever read... This brought out some wonderful thoughts and feelings... It looks as if your heart is starting to heal enjoy the moment !!!

Sunshine, Thank you too, it has been a while because I took some time out to write a few short stories for a friend (the same friend this poem is about)
