I just now had a little thought,
that very swiftly sped away.
They have named them senior moments.
I seem to have some every day.
I'm stumbling and I'm stammering,
wondering what is going wrong.
Guess my brain is overloaded.
It has been working overlong.
I try to introduce a friend.
I simply can't recall her name.
When I thnk of it at midnght,
it's way too late and not the same.
My friend doesn't seem to notice.
She acts as if all is quite fine.
Unbothered I forgot her name,
she's trying to remember mine.

I just love this. I'm tired of it being called my MENOPAUSAL MOMENT. Can't wait till I'm able to call it my "Senior Moment".

This is very clever Joyce. You're not alone in those "senior moments" you know!

Running hard to catch up with my fleeting senior moment, but I had to stop and tell you how delightful yours is. Many smiles.

LOL I have been having those moments so long, but finally now I have an excuse for them! I will never forget your face, but please don't ask me to remember your name!!

It wasn't bad enough being blonde... now aging has to "help"!!! LOL. I loved this, Joyce!

I like to think of it as selective recall----
very witty writing joyce-- thanks for the chuckle..

This was terrific...you have managed to weave humor, bittersweetness and reflection into an otherwise sad situation...I loved the ending where your friend is trying to remember your name too...this gives the sense of sharing, supporting and understanding between senior friends during these moments.
