I remember like it was yesterday
You and me and the summer rain
Never again will I love that way
Like I loved you in the summer rain

The rain was soft like the feel of your skin
The gentle caress of the summer rain
When I kissed you, I was lost in that spin
The spin of the drops of summer rain

I saw the lightning and felt the thunder
Feeling the power of the summer rain
I don't want to escape the spell that I'm under
The spell of your heart and the summer rain

I feel your breath hot on my neck again
Blowing through the trees with the summer rain
Stay with me tonight, my lover, my friend
Listening to the sounds of the summer rain

Kiss me again and leave me never
Feeling the warmth of the summer rain
Love me now, I'll love you forever
My heart beating with the summer rain

When it rains I'll think of this poem and hope someday you can relive it again.

The lyrical style and rain theme at first brought to mind Jackson Browne's "You Love the Thunder" though the theme is a bit different. This is swell, Sven. Thanks for it.

Hi Sven!

Been a while since I have read any of your work and I am thankful this is the first piece I read. Beautiful imagery, fantastic phrases. One of those rare poems that is indeed a multisensory experience.

Excellent!

You speak of the summer rain so vividly. As always, you bring beautiful poetry to life Sven. I like the repeating summer rain lines.
