Listening to every heart

Music on the Wind

before cultural moves
'neath horses hooves
before skylight buildings
and transplanted roots
seasons changed
winds rearranged
through lilies gilding
the wind was music's flute

grasses lean 'neath howling wind
talking to my spirits' kin

before stone and brick
and people thick
before other sounds
there was the raw
the prairie knew
when the wind flew
through life unbound
giving nature awe

passions of ancient people roar
we can never go as before

March roars in flight so fine
music resounding leonine
as spirits roam
ancestral homes
raw the cold wind blows
only the bare trees know
might the lamb be found
in the prairie's sound

seek thee solace that winds caress

only through civilized kiss
'tho the raw is sorely missed
chimes ring in the music's wind
still leaves one's soul searching

listen to the music's wind

I love the sound of the wind especially rain and I listened to sound effects while reading this. Thank you!

"The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind."
She whispers, she howls, we need only listen.

Great read, Sunshine.

Karilea--There is something very elemental in this poem of the magic of sound...like wind around time, you have written it well.

My friend~
You would already know that this one
has blown into my heart with inspiration~

On fluted edges of the wind
comes the voice of ancestral friend~
Notes held tightly in fisted glove
released upon rememberance of peace and love~

Blessings from your pen - fall upon my heart.
*Hugs*

All answers are but spirils of the wind! Bless you sweet spirit, may you never cease to hear the love within the whispers of the wind, for therein lies the answers! Oh! Did I say I loved this?
