Our Last Season

Never thought I would mourn the passing of winter
My least favorite season, I don’t do snow well
Mostly sit inside
Sometimes I open the blinds
Telling myself I should appreciate the beauty

But not this winter…I’ve known for quite some time
We would remain an undeveloped photo
Our last season to love
I find that I need to indulge
In, please, one more night of loving you

It’s warm in your reality if only by denial
I accept that you have entered your own spring
You won’t know I’m here
I swear you won’t see a tear
As I sit alone in winter quietly remembering

you have employed some very cool metaphors here JLR
and some great poetic phrases as well.
bittersweet and emotive.
well done

oh you speak to me in riddles
and you speak to me in rhymes
my body aches to breathe your breath
your words keep me alive

Ah, this is so bittersweet. To know that someone has moved on while we're still clinging to the memories. Awesome read!

JLR--The reality of this hurts...but there is also a kind of peaceful acceptance that I like...you have written the impact of moving and staying very well!

Cycles
cycles how do they
flash by and burn in our
memories BrandedMinds of Feeling

Psychologists say we forget the bad
the painful the sad the undoings and shame
we are acquited with life by their Lord
High Confessors realm to kiss the ring Reborn

But it's not like that for all you know
to some no matter the cathartic exercise
sweat blood hope that which was existence
is not forgotten instead the Historian of HellandALL

sharpens his quill in sigh and records ALL
curse or blessing divine these memories which
mark us as mankind we learn remember teach
built on all we know tears and blood our gift

our legacy blood and learning more so giving
our hope that tears of wasted lives ends now
it is why we speak of hearts torn and asunder
flying to give all we are to to tiny smiles

There is no Last season. There are only people who give up on the land.

"All blood through the heart passing is either purified or poisoned therein. Look to your heart with that question"

This one's not only sad, but truly beautiful...another of those ..."wish I had done that" reads.  I really enjoy your style (probably upset a few people by popping all yours back to the top...but got in a groove...

I loved your poem but I live for the snow!  Funny how we are all different?  Wonderful analogy in your poem as well as ending an relationship of any kind has elements of sadness and cold.  Great job.

The way you thead this poem with so much emotion and so much of your heart is truly astounding.  This is really beautiful work.
