I, forced to swallow the most bitter pill,
Of the never was, and the never will
Shimmering veil of darkest cloth hides eyes
Of my muse, once more she comes to descry
She sees into the deepest depths of me
Because without her, I am incomplete
With a rush like wind through the fertile field
And sunlight cascading in my mind unsealed
My loosed thoughts pour forth haltingly at first
She stands now before me, moistened lips pursed

Far across the field, this ardent meadow
I hear a thousand trumpets start to blow
I allow myself within her shadow
Letting who I was, and never will, go

Powerful depth. This is more than outstanding. I applaud. Wonderful Poetic Knight! I'm saving also.

This is wonderful, you do know that Balladeer's muse returned with a suntan!

This sounds the opposite but simply marvelous!

thy muse has returned and I am ever grateful *L*

so many cool lines in this PK ...
so many very well conceived images and poetic phrasings .....

"Of the never was, and the never will"

"And sunlight cascading in my mind unsealed"

"I allow myself within her shadow
Letting who I was, and never will, go"

and of course your ever impressive mastery of cadence and rhyme.
another excellent example of your poetic grace.

"She sees into the deepest depths of me"

me thinks that is a very very cool view

oh you speak to me in riddles
and you speak to me in rhymes
my body aches to breathe your breath
your words keep me alive

Sun, and Just...I hope you keep room for some more. *S*

Irish, thanks, I prefer my muse to not be allowed in the sun *L*

Janet...thanks for appreciating the view as always, for whatever the view shows.

I must agree with faterider! It's so much fun to discover another favorite and I'm afraid I'm becoming something of a PoeticKnight junkie.
