In the courtroom, solemn vow,
herald of truth's sine qua non,
Justice pleading, no one hears,
lost in pain, of young child's fears.

Verdict rendered, here avow,
sentence meted thereupon,
Judged by jury of one's peers,
'mid sorrows of a young child's tears.

Courtroom walls hear silence now,
both judge and jury gone,
Still remains a young child's fears,
drowned in pain of justice tears.

Strong writing with a powerful and sad ending. Very well written, Mike.

There is reality to these words, you obviously know of what you write. Enjoyed

Such a heavy burden, one we all should bear, my friend, to protect the child before this sort of poem needs to be written. I know from whence this comes, and send my thoughts your way.

Mike~
*Hugs* from this heart to yours.
It is not easy to sometimes see the injustice of justice.
Well written, my friend.

There are certainly times when we'd like truth to supercede the "justice" system, aren't there, my friend... I know how you labor over these cases... and I pray it all works out... Take care...
