The snort of the burrow
disturbed by fleas
in the early dawn light

Fragrant smells of peat fires.
Hedgerows heavy with
May spleandour.

To tramp alone through
deserted fells,
catch sight of Croax Patrick

looming through the mist,
scaled by hordes of sinners
praying for redemption.

Many varied greens evoke
primeval longings,
to be near my forefathers

in my beautiful
Emerald Isle.

Where the sweet emerald breeze trolls endless rolling pastures, welcoming the majestic shoreline of Irish green. Very nice write Maggie. I owed you one.

I rather enjoyed this piece, I am a partly of Irish descent, am a great fan of Irish music and beer. My fella is also Irish, I have never been to the emerald isle, but have always wanted to one day, and your poem only enhances that desire.

Maddy, thank you. You would love it despite what you hear of the fighting it is the last traqualiser in the world. Don@ go if you like to hurry. Practice walking with a snail and you will get my meaning. Maggie
