Oh Daddy Dear, I'm so sorry
I don't know how to take it away, except to worry.
If I could right all the wrongs,
If I could take away all the pain-
I would, I would in a heart beat.
You see, I am only bitter
And age will take bitterness away;
But you, you're so sad, so lost,
And I'm so afraid that for your sorrow,
You will pay far too steep a cost.
I look into your eyes,
I watch them to turn to grey.
I wish Daddy, you know I do,
I wish that I could take it away.
