and each word of your betrayal
was like sandpaper to his skin
agonizingly painful scraping away
what little manhood he had left
he leaned against the wall for support
and slowly each word
burdened him until he crumbled
as if atlas had laid the world upon his shoulders
slowly a lone tear streaked down his cheek
carving a glistening ravine in its wake
he lifted his gaze to me, biting his lip
his stare felt like tiny daggers piercing my flesh
and all I could do was watch him
as your actions shattered the barriers of his world...

hope it was worth it

I enjoyed this too - nice read for a Monday morning, when I still want to be in bed!
