DADDY'S GIRL
(Written 8-10-2000)

Whatever do I say,
how can I possibly begin?
How can I thank you enough,
for all you've helped me within?
You were always there,
when I fell and skinned a knee.
You were the one who plugged my nose,
and forced down medicine that was only good for me.
You gave me space to test my wings,
to see if I could fly,
but you never walked away,
when I needed you there to cry.
You taught me how to ride a bike.
I never even knew you let go.
Although I was angry at the time,
I know that has helped me grow.
You took me out on the boat,
and taught me how to fish.
Even though I often fell asleep,
those days are dearly missed.
Those days where you could run and play,
and swing me all around.
Long swims in pools and lakes,
you showed me I wouldn't drown.
I really do miss those days,
now that you're stuck in bed.
But then we had our all night talks,
'bout whatever popped in our head.
We'd laugh and wonder about everything,
our fascination with a dream,
and trying to figure out,
what it could possibly mean.
In all those years,
we've had so much fun.
How could I ever thank you enough,
for all that you have done?
And now that I'm in college,
working hard just to succeed.
I rarely find the time to call,
but feel free to call if you ever need.
I'm always here just to talk,
and enjoy it very so.
If you ever have something to say,
just ring and let me know.
I cherish every memory,
that so long ago was left behind.
But day-to-day, once in a while,
one or two will come to mind.
Even though I'm all grown up,
in almost every way.
I'll always be daddy's little girl,
and love you more than words can say!

Nice ELMO,
mysticpoe

If nothing is something
then everything is
our thoughts and feelings
and all that exists.
