A quickened breath,
increasing tension.
I let it out..
but still, no relief comes.

I remember feeling carefree,
faintly.
But it's there, taunting me in my weakened state.
Its my fault, I'll admit.
If thats how you want to phrase it.
I see no fault.
He makes me feel free to be half of what I am.
Almost comfortable.

My hands shake violently,
as I attempt to forsee your reaction.
What if I told you I don't give a damn?
It would break your heart..
I'm not that harsh.
But I probably am.

What am I hiding behind?
Theres nothing there, or here.
All I have are thoughts and feelings.
Coupled with logic, can't you trust me?

But you won't listen enough to find out whats behind it all.
Look hard.
Harder than that!
What do you see?

I will take note of your concern..
but I will not comply.
Its my life.
I'm your typical teenager rebel, I guess.

I felt this came from your heart, which really kept me in tune with the flow of the poem.  I enjoyed it a lot.  Look forward to seeing more from you.

If nothing is something
then everything is
our thoughts and feelings
and all that exists.
