He's coming, I know
To navigate my way
And I feel his wings
Tightly around me
My heart in his hands
As if he were already here,
Nothing I can do about it
Even if I wanted to.
I would have liked to have kissed you
Placed my heart against yours
To show you what God
Really gave me the ability to do
That which stands out
Above all the rest of my
"God given gifts."
Yes . . .
I would have liked to have done that
Given this to you . . .
Freely.
"Two years," he whispers
And
"I'm almost there,"
Two years and I know this
Will all be nothing
But a memory
Placed some where back
In the recesses of my mind
Locked securely away from my heart
"Two years," he whispers
"I'm almost there."
And so I kneel
While four-year-old Bridget
Draws crosses in the dirt
Saying:
"We all need God!"
Over, and over again . . .
I kneel and plant
Lavender and Violets
In this "Garden of Eden"
For I know now
That the Apocalypse
Is upon me.

Hmm, an ode to death and dying? Not sure, as I'm new around here myself. Still, in my opinion well done. I'm eager to see more.

"This existence of ours is as transient as autumn clouds. To watch the birth and death of beings is like looking at the movements of a dance. A lifetime is a flash of lightning in the sky. Rushing by, like a torrent down a steep mountain"

Sorry I don't have more to say than just to tell you I enjoyed the read.

Annie, this is very nice.
A wonderful read...yes. The very thing the "Dark" forum needs.
