I wish I could say I was alive..
half or completely.
Such a low percentage of me is left.
Empty and full..neither in a good way.

Left here, to destroy all memory of you.
For no reason imparticular.
Attempting to recover from this impact to my heart.
Alas, there is no use.

I'm waiting, wasting my hours on nothing.
Broading over feelings I can't dispose of.
Are you listening at all?
I don't think your hearing me correctly.
Deaf to my plea.
You hear what you want to.
Bleed when you want to hurt.
Cry to make a point.
Everything is logical with you.

I'm throwing punches, pointlessly.
You stand before me..with that stupid plastic grin
painted on.
Emotion is impossible, you stare with marble eyes.
Unaffected by me.

A bullet proof window stands between us,
your on the inside, always safe.
I'm on the outside, always in pain.
My bullets bounce back and hit me,
and I get what I deserve.
Look at me, look at this stupid girl..
with black tears in her eyes.
blood on her face.
Crying over nothing at all.
Burning in her private hell.

Well, you've created a picture here that I can clearly see, probably because it seems a little like my life.

The last stanza really made this poem for me. I could see the emotions clearly conveyed.

i'm listening...

"in a past life i was a woodcarver's knife: the sharpend blade of a wood cutter, the eldest son of the chief's brother: a maker of drums"

Well done lexy-
you really painted a picture for me here.  The first few lines truly wrapped me in.  Always a delight.

I think there is probably nothing worse than having such strong feelings for someone, and that person being incapable of returning them.  I felt the emotion in this.

So lord I see you grinnin' must be grand always winning....AIC
