*Warning* This is a poem about Gays/Bisexuals/Lesabins/ IT's not bashing it's to promote none bashing. I am myself Biesexual and not afaird to admit it. But maybe I should be...because after watching a show called The Lamire Project I felt moved to write....enjoy..

I never understood why people hate,
Why the kill because there’s a difference between them and the person there beating,
It is not as if we chose to be different,
We never wanted to be called Queer,
I do not think you understand just how we feel,
Were afraid to go out of our homes,
I am afraid and that says a lot,
Because we know, we are hated,
We can’t ever be normal like you, so don’t hate us don’t kill us,
You’ll never know how hard we cry at night knowing that we could meet are end at some ones knife,
We try to be normal but deep down inside we know we never could be,
You never hear some one say “Yes I’m Queer” aloud,
Because that could get them killed just for saying three simple words,
People look at use and see one word “sin” and that makes us feel like nothing,
But doesn’t the bible you follow say “ Thou Shall Not Kill Another Man”
You don’t follow that one do you?
Are “Respect Thou Neighbor”
That’s another you don’t care to listen to,
How can you be so cruel?
We are like you were are humans,
We just don’t like the same kind of person as you,
That doesn’t give you the right are power to decide what should be done with us,
Most of you don’t realize just how many people die because there different,
And do you ever think what that does to some ones family?
That one day they could just wake up and find out there son are daughter is dead,
Are maybe you just don’t want to realize this,
Would it be so bad to have a neighbor like us?
Are you afraid we’d hurt your children?
That we’d bring some demonic evil with us?
We just want to live our lives with out fear,
But that can never be as long as were Queer,
So you just ask us to change,
It’s not like a piece of cloths we just can’t shed it off and put on a new one,
No matter how much we want to do that,
Just so we can fit in,
And beating us, insulting us, killing us,
Won’t help either,
Thou you think it can so you try, more, and more of us die each and every blood-stained day,
But what if you were me and I was you?
Do you think you could last?
Do you think you could look at yourself in the mirror and say, “I am Queer”
I bet you would reflect on your past,
At best, you might regret those names you called some person with there partner on the street,
And as you saw all the things you did to us, you would cry,
Because you’d be, me and you’d feel my pain,
You’d feel my tears running down your face,
You would feel that tightness in your chest,
Do you think you could change then and expect us?
God I pray you will,
God I pray we’ll be expected one day,
For who and what we are,
But for now we’ll stay in the dark in the closet,
To protect ours self’s and our families that you’d hurt if we told you we were different,
I just want to be expected I just want to live,
But most of all I want the Freedom you have,
To walk down the street without having to doge nasty glances,
Are to avoid a flying fist,
I want that with all my heart and soul I want that,
And some day, yes some day we will have that,
Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but in the futore,
We will be free,
From your bigotry,

Amen.

I agree with you on this one. and i understand i have friends who fit into each catagory. In fact my wife was Bi before we got married she was my friend then and people would pick and make fun of her so I'd stand up and say something. i enjoyed very much and i'm gonna have my wife check it out as well.

I'm a dying romantic and when i can no longer write i can no longer live -Jeremiah Johnson-

first, very nice write, you put all your emotion and feeling out there, i respect that.second, dont ever think you are not normal, becaue you are, it is the other ignorant people that have a prolbem with it that are the ones that are not normal...and personally i think you should be up front wiht society, but not flaunt it if that makes sense, to make change it needs to be set in motion, and it already is, a glimer of hope i can give you is read up on black history, or the holocaust, they went through the same plight...good luck, and nice write

"in a past life i was a woodcarver's knife: the sharpend blade of a wood cutter, the eldest son of the chief's brother: a maker of drums"

I suppose I'm a bit of a dreamer, but I too hope that someday all people will learn to respect each other and the choices we each make in life.  Wouldn't it be nice if people would just, "live and let live"?  You're heart was in this, I enjoyed.

So lord I see you grinnin' must be grand always winning....AIC
