Evening wanderer
enraptured and free
touches me
plays for me

Four a.m. soul dancer
awakens me
robs my dreams
plays with me

Faerie free float
stay on the brink
settle for morsels
too much to drink

Where is the intrigue
bring me alive
truth glows like fire
help me survive

Voice of conviction
brings you to your knees
do you really believe this
I want to know please

You have a way
of calling me back
could stay in love
not sure what I lack

How do you answer
sweet soul dancer
…most alluring girl romancer…

Stand at the threshold
bow your head
receive the grace
your god holds stead

That’s where you were
when we all fell in love with you…

This was my first post, and I was so jittery!  I'm a novice poet, and my goal is to write songs.  How insightful of you.  Thank you so much.

Wow, I am so excited to get this kind of response.  Maybe I should forward this to my Soul Dancer musician friend. ;-)

Yes, ELMO, my poems speak to me, and over time, remind me of times in my life from which I was able to grow. Sometimes measurable in only a few months! Poems of personal growth are benchmarks, aren't they?

Yes Anytime Kahlil!!--I'm glad u r here, sharing ur greatness with all of us!! Poetry for me is the only way I know how to express myself, it's kinda like therapy, it doesn't matter if noone else gets it, as long as it holds meaning for yourself & helps u grow, feel better, or whatever!!

ELMO

keep sharing, i'd luv to hear more from u!!

thank you elmo and wranx in your replies.  You're right about getting it or not getting it...I think if just one comment in our  writing about our pains and joys and life experiences can help another person feel and see, then we've done our job as word artists...
