SILENCE

Silence
Whoever coined the term,
“Silence is golden”
must have never really experienced it.
Silence is my whole life.
Silence is scary.
A point where it seems everyone has deserted you
The only sound you hear is your own voice in your head.
How can that be considered a treasure?
Deafness.
Lonely.
Nights are the worst.
Even the sound of an enemy would be comforting.
A stranger,
A burglar,
Would be welcomed guests.
Am I desperate,
Or do I desperately despise…
SILENCE?

Silence can be golden but, is most often the nightmare you speak of...
