I wrote this jointly with my friend, Zach Daniels, alternating each line. Our styles seem to meld seamlessly.
~*~

To the tune of fifty heartbeats, I drag myself away
the strong pull of my conciousness will never let me stay
Incognito resurrections, in a non-imposing way
pair the strings of hidden stresses in a beautiful bouquet
To believe and yet endeavour, to begin with lack and loss
a tangled strain of undone bows, dragging me across
And behind the shuttered windows, or inside the shattered frost
lies the battle-worn music of panic-bathed exhaust
To extents beyond comparison, in spite of opposition
I'm the soul that's playing songs through the defeated musician
Weaving controversy backwards, over patterns of attrition
swaying branches, in the wind, never needed my permission
But to contemplate confusion, I would dare to look ahead
and the foggy paths in front of me will tentatively tread
Finding thorns among the roses, condradicting what you said
spinning circles of distraction, floating thoughts above my head
Breaking chordes constructed endlessly, with overbearing tones
crackled notes, harmonic sounds that i can feel run through my bones
Searing clarity in motion through a wave of sinking stones
it's the knowing ears that hear through the whispering and moans

"I don't need to scream for you to deem me aggravation."

You certainly achieved a sense of unity here, hard to believe that it is written by two, you must both be on the same plain. It held my attention.
