The first wave of pain
seems so subtle and harmless.

You can take it,
you've dealt with worse
Nothing you can't handle.

But it persists and now it
increases and becomes unbearable

Your eyes begin to flood
and wimpering cries issue from
your cut off throat.

Just another 30 seconds
and it will all be over...

"If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh"

Same as Larry:

enough to make you gag.

I hate Listerine. But alas, this isn't really about that now, is it?

Well....

Thanks for the replies.  Yes, it is about Listerine.  No hidden agendas.  No hidden meanings.  No hidden sorrows screaming in pain through these words.

Rather:  I have a toothache that's really driving me insane.  Any cold liquid in my mouth causes intense pain.  Especially Listerine, which I am using to compliment usual oral hygene.  And so, this is my poetic description of using Listerine in this way...

heh heh...couldn't help but think that there was a hidden meaning to this piece...very nicely written! This'll make me sound odd, but I kinda like the taste of Listerine. Shhh!! Don't tell anyone! >; P
