~I wrote this to a friend of mine who was a victim of child abuse.~

Plummeting downward like a sinking ship,
life's threats are beginning to tear and rip.
Hopelessness begins to tire on ambition,
the situation is no longer premonition.
You shudder alone in this empty room,
repressed ideas haunt and loom.
Please listen to the truth to be told.
Sit and listen to a story that is cold.
Take the words up like a dry sponge
within your concience like a filming grunge.
Life is full of little ruts and bumps,
hard knocks, bruises, beatings and lumps.
You must go through the bad to get to the good,
be brave and the meaning will be understood.
I feel concerned when life goes wrong.
Maybe the bumping road won't seem as long
if you take my words and learn to care
instead of hiding beneath a cynical stare.
For a friend I will try to be,
honourable, loyal and caring you will see.

"You must go through the bad to get to the good"

You are a compassionate friend to offer a shoulder to one who has suffered abuse.
But I reject the above statement. No one must go through bad to get to good, though for some, bad is all they get served on life's plate.
I commend you for attempting to soothe a sufering heart.
