If I where to take a bottle cap
And stand on the edge of space
Then flick it
End over end
Away from me
What would I see

Would a ballet
Be set before me
Effortless and graceful
Up down top bottom
Spinning turning
Whirling with amazement
As it drifted away
Farther and farther
From my very grasp
Ascending all the while
Into the heavens
To take it’s place
Amongst the cosmos
Where it belongs

Or would the dance falter
Stutter in mid-step
Then start to fall
Aimlessly towards me
Burning all the while
Accelerating ever faster
Towards me
Burning with a fire
Unseen by mortal man
Shining so brilliant
As if to eclipse
The very universe itself
Giving it’s all to me
Only to wind up
Mire dust at my feet

I guess that depends
On just how far
I feel like flicking
That bottle cap

But in the end
They all come back to me

I do this with so many souls

Regret not that which you have done,
Rather that which you haven't

I liked this, reminded me a bit of the Stone's "Sympathy for the devil".Not at all like it in form but the message,Great imagery and a very impactfull ending.

Live like it's your last day...
Dance like nobody's watching...
Love like you've never been hurt...

If time and space are curved, where do all of the straight people come from?
Let's get one thing straight: I'm not!

bbent: I take it you figured out the real title to this piece and who told the tale, bravo! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

D edgar Grey: Thank you, I’m glad you liked it. I was actually really buzzed when I wrote this on the night before “Thanksgiving” believe it or not. Amazing what one can find when all defenses are gone. I found the devil this time. Thanks again.
