Myriad of Unkown Places

Behold
The woman in black
Upon the highest parapet,
Cloaks billowing
In the winter wind,
Gazing beyond
The barren lands.

Still, so still...
Has it been so long?
That she would
View the blasted
Terrain for what
She whispers
Is
The last time.

But the panorama
Is bleak,
Empty of life,
Empty of heart,
Empty of sound...

But still, so still...
A whisper, nearly
Unheard, faint,
From beyond.

The veil drops
Before her eyes,
And as the landscape
Clouds,
She turns away,
Then turns back
Again.

Turns away,
Then turns back again.

Away, and back again.

...again.
