Hi everyone, this is my first poem posted here, so be gentle The Darkness Binds Inside my head they mumble Mutter Scream. Inside my mind they struggle against the chains That bind them. Stronger than I am Kept under control Only by the strength of love. But the darkness takes over And down, down I drop And dangle from the rope she tied round me. Hand over hand Over hand Over hand Chapped and raw and bleeding I climb Striking the rocks Slipping back down. Far above me I hear a sound. It’s you You’re begging me to come back. The pain I feel they cause you Turns into brute strength With an almighty lunge I dive upwards. Grasp onto the edge Hang there for a while The dark men retreat just a step. I dangle and pull and grimace and growl And pull myself all the way out. Then down comes a feather Black from the sky It takes just that…and I fall again. |
