somebody's dungeon

These poems of this nature are the product of a friendly poetic duel I am having with a very darling young man named echo on another board. He's into goth and the cold of concrete and steel. I do not post his response poems here. Just mine.

Surround not
with the filth
of misinformed fools
who create these steel
gods. Concrete idols.
Towers that reach
to the heavens.

Did Babel teach us nothing?
Still
with a false sense
of progress
we build not beauty,
but dung heaps
with floor upon floor
to hold the ants
of society.

Individuality lost
in the shameful
waste of nature.

The war rooms!
surely you mock.

The pit of hell
upon earth.
Gargoyle not man.
Rubbing hands together.
Modern day plunderer
of what is natural.
Saliva drooling pigs
who rape the land.

destruction

disruption

devastation

I want to feel
your embrace
yet I fear
the heat of science
will burn my flesh.

You cannot
hold me close
soft lace
will melt,
underneath
your touch.

*stepping back*
yes
I thought you looked a little different
maybe you got your hair done
or something
well, lady
I like the new look
vivid
gray
dripping
chains
of industrial
nightmares
but,
make sure you put Anne's old clothes
on sometimes too
hugs ya

Thanks for the comments. They are appreciated. Don't worry. I shall don the old garb again. These be a bit heavy.

Lovely in metaphorical accuracy.  Still, you make me feel uncomfortable, remining me as you do of what I try to forget, and making me want more at the same time!  Are you turning me into a masochist, or was I simply that way already?
