Don't Cry for Me Argentina

Darkness
Hide this reflection
That seen in my minds eye
Would write in reverse
The hands of passing time
So that I might lay
There with her
My hand where stomach
Meets her thigh
And feel again
Desired

Midnight
Blind me
So that I do not see
The moonlight play
Across shoulders uncovered
Begging my heart to bend warmth
In a kiss or touch
That now is unwanted

Hear me Gods!

My hands are clenched round these thoughts
And would plunge them into dark chambers
If I could but strangle them

Choking off their life
That I might never have to feel the pangs
That gnaw as hunger tired bones
On my fleshless soul

If there is mercy in you
Speak to me

If there is not

Darkness
Let me not speak of them again

Reflection? Destruction? Insuation? Infatuation? Need?

So many layers, Ron. So many layers to this.

thank you sir... the layers are intentional in this case...and on the verge is where we all live, sometimes it just doesn't cause us as much angst as others...
as for favorite poets... I can honestly say the feeling is mutual.

Hey - this is like a darker version of the 'electric' poem...can I ask whether this poem was a link from the thoughts of that one?

It's really nice to read you over in dark btw...to watch different styles, and tones come out...
