Passion is what I've Waged

As your voice Washes over me
It Abuses my Will -I Swear
& when your Heart turns Bitter
I feel Fire Burn the Air

If only we didn't Want
What neither can Endure
A Passion torn -that cant be seen
From Hearts that remain Unsure

If only I could keep from Struggling
When our Eyes Touch -Not to Meet
When our Senses Drown in each other
& an Infatuation that stays Discrete

For you, the Bravery turns to Cowardness
Your Pride then Selflessly shows
To Tame a Wild Betrayal
In which I have yet to Expose

For me, the Depth of Emotions
Betray me -can't you see it in my eyes
Taming a part of Victory in you
Which I Cleverly Disquise

If you Save me, I'll have no Will
No Fire, no Passion, no Rage
For in Wanting you I Abuse myself
& that Passion is what I Wage

One day Men will look back & say
that I gave birth to the 20th Century

Hey MidsummerRain....WOW!!!  I see you live in St. Louis?  Correct?  I live not far from you.  Anyway, your poem was one I could have written myself, but not as well.  Exceptional expression of human emotion that is out of control.

Luved this....

"If only we didn't Want
What neither can Endure
A Passion torn-that cant be seen
From Hearts that remain Unsure"

So well put.  So candid from a person who has been there.  So reaching to the reader.

Ok...now pardon my forwardness....but sounds like this person is not free?  And therefore neither are you?  Just an observation.  It is a painful road.  Hugs to you.

Hmmm....

"If you Save me, I'll have no Will
No Fire, no Passion, no Rage
For in Wanting you I Abuse myself
& that Passion is what I Wage"

I guess I most connect with this section, simply because that's one of the things that I often wonder about...if the person that I am infatuated with were to ask me out, what would happen next. This was an incredible piece! Thanks....Ja.

you know for weeks, i've an idea for a poem called something like the wages of love... like wages of sin... and now i stumble onto this amazing piece of work.
you pour your passion into your words and writing. some of us wait forever for love like this, passion this strong.
i like the first 2 lines of the last stanza, those stuck on me.

it's our struggle for identity that leaves us all unknown

Still beautiful writing, full of strength and fear and hope.
