Knee-imprinted sod
scrapes innocence
from soft skin-
slowly
     caressing
          me...

It is a day
when humility
never tasted so
sweet.

can I be?
be the one
to slake
fruitful nerve
from a barren plain
of mercy?
a storm so calm-
it frightens peaceful
with a glance-
a chance of fury.

Stain, stain
upon a soul of love.
ride my wind
back to content-
and kiss my slice
of wisdom
on a day
when humility
never tasted so sweet.

Open arms can be the most fragile in the world...

devina,
Reminds me of a scene from a recent movie, The Good Girl, where a downtrodden, long-suffering wife tries to poison her young lover with tainted roadside blackberries, only to swat them away after he's eaten half the carton.

Good movie -- excellent poem.

"a storm so calm-

Magnificent!!!!! Almost a reprise within a reprise, which is even better than a Poe-ish "Dream within a dream"...

I am so here with you on this one D!!! And we are so here together as evidenced by your overwhelmingly kind and thoughtful reply to my last "foolish" poem.

You rule the kingdom, dear!

Nice one "D", But a piece entitled "humility", authored by devina seemed, well...a little oxymoronic.

Made for good reading, this.
Thanks

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".

Very interesting reading. I have to tell Wranx that his comments re you were hysterical---actually not about you, but the word he coined "oxymoronic"---That cracked me up! I have to add that one to my vocabulary!

Tanya
where is the strong
grinning

taking what you will,
and savoring
every
last
bit?
