*save the last page for something special*

you drain your heart, and it's still bleedin
line after line and rhyme after time
and you're still needin
all those notebooks you had to buy
and you write the same pages countless times
i know what that feels like

you're on your own;
got a blank page in the back
hope you saved the best for last...

a checkered past? yeah, we've all done it
heart ripped out and lights punched out
sounds so redundant.
all those nights you made out alive
dad kicked your ass and mom just cried
i know what that feels like

you're on your own;
got a blank page in the back
hope you saved the best for last...

Does it ever get any better?
Writing the same things forever
Getting older and sober
Living over and over again...

you're on your own;
got a blank page in the back
hope you saved the best for last...

wait for the dare-to-be-great situation
hope it'll be my last-page inspiration
savin' the best for last

it's our struggle for identity that leaves us all unknown

MidnightSon,
Sounds like classic rock verse, or hip-hop verse, or ... both?!

This would make a great hurtin' country song. They are so popular because they're all about human emotion and life experiences.

Sure, if you want to, save the best for the last page---of each chapter---and remember, there are many chapters to be written in your life's book!
It gets richer and more meaningful as you work your way through it!

Wonderful poem

This would make an awesome song (rock to my preference)!! Great piece. Liked it much!

"Empty pages, I've read you all through
Empty pages, filled with spaces
I fell in, and I fell in"...
Almost felt as if you were writing specifically to me, as I reminesce over my writings of the last few years...I did say, however, in the intro to my book that the title might as well have been called "Redundent Redundencies"...
How many times can we actually poetically write about the same theme? Who knows...I guess I'm here to prove it infinite...
Loved this one...almost too much.
