Reaching for the light

Dare to be true and honest,
though life be not fair and just.
In the righteous path you walk,
though the evils of life at you mock.
Have the goodness to forgive the wrongs of your foes,
though they may on you inflict all kinds of woes.
Though in darkness you may grope,
you must never loose hope.
If honest, righteous, merciful and kind
the ray of light you will surely find

yes! when they knock you down, get back up, say "i love you" and let 'em knock you down again, only to get back up and say..
at some point, either your perseverance wins, or we true of heart are all made fools of. loved this.

i'll always need a friend, one i can defend.
