4. The Family Gathers

Cathrene on
the stuffing chair,
the stuffing chair, the
stuffing chare.

Yellowing claret, the
glass so cold.
Age in sips
and poison haste.

Tip it back, yellow
yellow as.
A page. Yellow as
a brittle fade.

Robert breathes
a soft etude,
picture bright to the walls.

Rebounding silver
sounds of soft
and secret waterfalls.

Fingers to each hole,
a sad, small wind,
a rill of ocean thought.

He's your husband,
yes he is.
Cathrene how yes he is.

Mother's in the other chair.
Horsey breath.
So slow asleep.

Even sound
of trust and tryst
not to wake her eyes.

That Robert please.
Please put that
smooth and ugly thing
away.

Another tip, another sip
another played out criticize.
Those two. How they oh.
How those two should be dead.

Like candles burning.
Two impish people,
just empty wax.
Bee brutal shells.

This seems terribly...Victotian, to me. I could smell a dark and musty drawing room, filled with dark and musty people.
