Only yesterday comes quicker
Than the day that was before,
Only answers seems forgotten
But the meaning just as sore.
Only after is the passion
Screwed in bottles tightly kept,
Only now that am I free to cry
At last I’ve finally wept.

Could it be the turning table?
That is neatly set for two,
Could I take the place less empty?
That once sat a perfect you.
Could I spy among the voices?
In the crowd that isn’t there
Could I grasp the fork and circle,
Food for thought - without a care?

Will it be the promise pained me?
If I sat too long to think,
Is the message in the bottle?
Now enticing me to drink.
Will I shoulder my resistance?
And begin in pastures new,
Will the flame I lit, now smouldered
Still give warmth enough for two?

Shall I be the morrow calling
In a gentle breeze of light,
Shall I slip into the thunder?
On this storm that captured night.
Shall I whistle on some love-song?
And dance this fear away?
Shall the graceful letters wrote with heart,
Be torn and thrown away.

But Only Yesterday comes quicker
Than the day that was before,
And only answers seem forgotten
But the meaning just as sore,
Yes only after is the passion
Screwed in bottles, tightly kept.
It's only now that I am free to cry
At last I’ve finally wept…

I'm not looking for a yellow brick road...
just one, without a dead end.

very poetic I liked the way it flowed

If your afraid of the dark, then why did you come?

I love this ponder, DeaDi

"Will I shoulder my resistance?
And begin in pastures new,
Will the flame I lit, now smouldered
Still give warmth enough for two?"

You keep doing great work!
