The tide rushes in-
Echoes of what was-
What could've been
Are tossed around
Among the waves
Like the seagulls
Cry that lingers
Then ebbs away
The sound of
Love's sweet voice
Fades to a whisper
Of memory
So real you can
Taste the salty twang
And feel beads
Of sand beneath
Your bare feet
Slowly the tide
Retreats- draws back
Carrying its echoes
To crash upon
A foreign shore
fading... whispering...

well done.

puts a connections with you and others of similiar distress. across the way, someone is staring into the same waters as you.

Disintegrated to materialize in reformed delight.

StarrG,
Stirring and evocative. I love to hear the ocean speak to me. Just can't make out the words.

Funny thing is... this poem isn't at all what I intended. I was in the mountains at the time thousands of miles from the ocean but I've never been one to complain when words come to me so I'll take it! Thanks for the comments you guys.
