The gaze of the sun is blinding
The rays burn it's seductive dance with tribal rhythms
I am drained, lying sun-stricken upon the sands
The desert wooing my very essense away with the fierce heat of it's desires
My will is to move on and not be carrion for the vultures
My will to remain as far away from your touch is greater
My flesh is seared by winds
I feel my blood at the boiling point
Every thought I've ever had
Every memory I've survived through
Every pain I've ever felt
Come flooding back in manic waves
My mind is not my own
Countless voices tear me apart
Spitting their hate through clenched teeth
I hear everything you ever said
The pain is replayed in vivid detail
Each word is heard again as for the first time
And the pain is felt anew
It grows and mutates into some horrid creature that Lovecraft would shun
With eyes shut, they overtake me
With eyes open, all I see is you
Who needs eyes at all
These voices surround me
Nothing makes them leave but a physical intrusion of greater calliber
I trade one pain for another
I can feel a breeze cooling my charred flesh
It's breath burns that which is not coated in my blood
I submerge myself in a pool of cooling red
I open my eyes to see the sun cannot burn me whilst I am below
Your face becomes distorted in the ripples
The further I drift underneath, the harder it is to hear them
Matters not that I cannot breathe
The silence is golden
I've yearned for it for ages
I open my mouth and drink of my salvation
Oh the sweet taste of silence

Disintegrated to materialize in reformed delight.

My, my, Flesh angels AND Lovecraft.

Those are good condiments for this write.

It's been a while since I've seen the mention of Lovecraft seriously. Nice!
