I tasted silence
in the moon fall
alas
he was too cold
for comfort…

I slipped past the iron gates
of his determination-
and let myself
feel.
burn.
want.

I laid my claim
on wings of passion-
(ever too tame)
his guard went down,
and I had to wonder
…why…

My covet-
to purloin
cold heart
of the moon…

I sought to dwell
in forbidden estate-
(capitulation too soon)
breathing,
for sparkle warm crave-
Only to find
the key
too rough
To give into
love
at first sight

Silver warmth
ran shallow-
(stake driving home)
I tasted silence
when I kissed
a man
made of
moon & stone

Open arms can be the most fragile in the world...

You are writing so deep, m'girlie!

"a man of moon and stone"

He DOES get around, doesn't he?

gorgeous poetry.

although i loved (above explanation) purity's prose on challenges and ketchup, i have to say you totally outdid yourself on this self-standing poem.

My covet-
to purloin

absolutely perfect!

and "i laid my claim on wings of passions"
simply beautiful, and complexly deep.

thanks for putting this one on the table. i enjoyed!

i'll always need a friend, one i can defend.

i love the turn of an old phrase....
and now you've used my fav word in a poem(capitulation)
it just has that sound to it ya know... it's a good word.

this builds and builds... i love that about you reads, but this one...
i relate to it more perhaps because of recent and escalating circumstances...hehe

it's our struggle for identity that leaves us all unknown
