Moved from a shack to a barn

This is for an E-friend, I hope she sees it.

She has sprinted through her stream
Jumping from rock to slippery rock
Never landing solidly enough
On any one, to pause,
And catch her breath

Until now

Winded, muddied and bruised
She stops and takes stock
Of her progress,

She has come quite far,
in a very short time
and now,
she finds herself surrounded
by beckoning whorls and eddys.

Each wanting to take her
She knows not where

Deep green pools call her
Into their cool calm depths
To rest in their Morpheus wrappings

Rapids, white and wicked
Dare her to test them
To test herself within them

I think that she must be frightened
Unsure of her next step

She knows that I’ve traveled this route
A long time ago

And looks to me, not for an answer
She’s too strong for that
But, for a hint, some clue
Of what lies downstream

I decide to walk along beside her
Safe on the bank of my own stream
And describe for her the path I took
In order to caution her,
against it.

A most admirable decision on your part, wranx, to walk beside her to prepare for what lies ahead.

Once again, you've penned an awesome one!

I once said, (er...TYPED) that if my writing did nothing else but to serve as a warning to others, then it would not have been in vain.

Sometimes I write with the sole purpose of cutting my own head off, placing it on a stick in the middle of my path--in warning to others--"do not enter here."

*hand over heart*

thank you.

I could relate.

Happy that you all replied to this.

It was written for a friend (that writes wonderful things) as an invite to post here. I'll not tell her handle, but, I'm sure you'll dig her as I do. Provided, of course she ever shows up.

Moon Dust ~
Thanks for the read -
But...
I've not needed Kwell help
for many years,
and at that,
I've had Crab lice,
just twice.
